If you have completed SROI training, either via Quality Matters/The Wheel or elsewhere, then you know that as important, exciting and mind-opening as it is, it can also be challenging to apply. We urge you simply to start and then keep going: slow and steady is usually the best way.
We know from experience that what helps most is being able to thrash out some of the finer points with other people who understand the social value approach. So we are establishing online peer support sessions, initially two a year, but we can increase the number if there is sufficient interest. These sessions will aim to help people apply their learning, both in an internal day-to-day context or if working towards an SROI study that is going to be externally assured.
These free sessions are open to anyone who has completed the SROI training and who is a member of the Social Value Ireland network (also free). The dates and times for this year’s sessions are:
21 April 10.00 - 11.30
25 August 10.00 - 11.30
A session will work in the following way:
It will begin with participants entering into the chat function on Zoom their specific query or challenge or topic they want a refresher on (there is no question too simple!)
There will be a brief intro round in which people can highlight the steps they are taking to put their learning into practice or something that is working well for them at present
While the intro round is happening, the facilitator will group the questions by theme, and then there will be a facilitated discussion, with the goal of answering all people's questions
The facilitator will be me - Caroline - but we may also have occasional special guest appearances from other Level 3 Advanced Practitioners such as Sandra or Phil
You don't have to have a specific question and may just want to hear how other people are applying the learning
Over time, there will be opportunities for people to do a case study on the great work they have done.
We are delighted that we now have enough people in Ireland who have been trained in SROI to be able to coordinate these peer learning exercises.
Please register your interest here. Looking forward to seeing you there.
